“She bristles at the traditional gender roles that she’s expected to play: the demure daughter, the obedient fiancée…She’s certainly not swooning, boy-crazy Disney Princess like ‘The Little Mermaid’s’ Ariel or Snow White. ” -Adam Markovitz.
This infuriates me.
This is what’s wrong with society. People are so concerned with the sexual orientation of a Disney animation that the miss the whole point of the movie. Can’t a girl not want to be with a guy and NOT be a lesbian? She’s like 16, she doesn’t know these boys, and she’s not ready for marriage. That doesn’t mean she HAS to be a lesbian. If that’s the case, fine, that’s her business. But by saying that’s the ONLY reason she couldn’t be interested in any of the boys, who were all terrible suitors, you are completely missing the point!
She’s a teenager! She shouldn’t want to get married. Shame on you people.
what the serious fuck is wrong with people? -_-
ALL. OF. This.
oh man, rowkey, is this the article from your local paper??
GAAAAAAAHHHHGHGHGHGH
Is there any single human creature in this world, who’s watching a movie for itself - like the story, the characters, the beauty, and stuff - and not for interpret racist/sexist/gender issues, or like creating a whole media conspiracy against humanity? I mean, seriously, people have that much freetime? I’m kinda envious.

When I saw Brave, I noticed that the Queen’s dress reminded me a lot of Sargent’s painting of Ellen Terry as Lady Macbeth. When I got home and looked up pictures of it, there was no doubt in my mind that it was inspired by the dress. It’s almost exact. Even her hair is the same.
The dress is currently being restored, which is a painstaking process due to the beetle wings on the dress. Even Queen Elinor’s dress had the beetle wing sparkles!

Brave- Japanese trailer
I swear, there was a shot near the end that made me squee. Funny how this foreign trailer makes me more excited to see this film than any North American trailer. Hmmm…
Wow. It’s rather interesting to look at how the film is marketed in different places. Very different from what we’ve seen in the US trailers so far. More emphasis on the supernatural part.
